It has been a fun, fabulous, and frugal day of flea marketing and antiquing in and around Johnson City and Elizabethton, Tennessee. Now it is time to sit a spell with a good cup of coffee and chat…because I’m totally tuckered out from all the walking and carrying.
My favorite find of the day is the “Sit a Spell” storage bench that the hubby spotted in a little shop in Elizabethton. He knew the moment he pointed it out that I was going to be begging for it–and for a good reason *wink* Luckily for him, it was only $20.00! I’m going to paint it…but that is as far as I’ve gotten on a plan for it *smile*
At the Corner Nest Antique Mall in Elizabethton, I found this old potter’s table. The nice lady who owned the booth was there rearranging all her treasures, and she gave me a deal I could not refuse…drum roll…potter’s bench price = $39.00 *winning smile*
The details are simple + the worn green color gives it character = perfect for the hubby’s office or guest bedroom…we will probably move it fifty times tonight, but that’s the kind of wild fun we have at Hathorn Hall on a Saturday night *wink*
We actually started our day at the Tri-Cities Flea Market. This place is huge. Inside booths. Outside booths. Lots of junk. Some cool junk. And some just plain ole junk. I’m always amazed at flea markets…but I don’t want to get sidetracked with that topic!
Back to my fabulous finds…at the flea market, I stumbled upon a pair of old bikes and immediately fell in love + I saw their futures…great sculptures. Happy Dance time because I will be creating upcycled bike art pieces…my absolute favorite! I am so excited that I’m having a hard time staying focused!
Enough reminiscing about past bike rim projects…back to the fabulous finds of the day.
I got this darling green milk stool for $10.00 at the Tri-Cities Flea Market. I’m not sure if it’s the bargain of the century, but it’s adorable and sturdy. Perfect for the front porch *smile*
It has been a long and busy day of fun and shopping. I’m off now to move that potter’s table around *smile*
Thanks for sitting a spell with me today as we chatted about fabulous and frugal finds in and around my new city. If you love vintage and antiques, this area has a huge selection and great prices.
