Hey, y’all! Welcome back to Sweet Sorghum Living. Today on the blog, I’m admitting that I’m an addict. Seriously. It’s bad. The hubby wants me to seek help because I’ve got a secret stash, and I’m beginning to make more and more excuses….
It started out so innocently. The year was 1995. A student gave me one. It smelled heavenly. It took me back to Christmases of yesteryear. It made me happy. It made me feel good. I was hooked. There would be no turning back.
Today I indulged myself once again. I couldn’t resist the temptation. There was a sale on my favorites. Buy one, get one 50% off. I had a coupon for $20 off a purchase of $45 or more. Curses! They were putting out brand-spanking new ones.
Oh. My. Goodness. Fall has arrived at my house. There is no more summer scents. It’s pumpkin everything.
What makes my addiction so bad is I’ve dragged Ziva into my excited frenzy. She was super pumped when I came home with a fresh supply.
Then…came…another coupon to feed my problem. Y’all know where to find me on September 2.
Now to help keep my product burning smoothly, I use the Illuma-Lid. A big shout out to Cris at Yankee Candle inside The Mall at Johnson City for introducing me to these cute and functional lids. All these years of buying and burning, I never knew what those lids did…I thought they were just for looks…but they actually help the candles to burn more evenly.
I conducted my own experiment…one candle with an Illuma-Lid and one without…same location…same burn time…Result–Illuma-Lid candle performed and looked better. My experiment was far from scientific or controlled, but as far as I’m concerned…I will be investing in more Illuma-Lids…and more Yankee Candles.
Thanks for sitting a spell with me today as we chatted about my addiction to Yankee Candle. As Cris stated, “It’s aromatherapy.” Scents remind us of people and things we love. I would love to have a candle that smells like my Granddaddy’s pipe tobacco. How wonderfully amazing that would be! I’d sit in my rocking chair, drink coffee, and chat about the good ole days. Yankee Candle, please get on that immediately *smile*
Since you enjoy your addiction so much, may you never be healed!
Haha, I totally agree. I could have worse addictions *wink*
