Hey, y’all! Welcome back to Sweet Sorghum Living. Today on the blog, we are chatting about transforming a swing with pillows + tips for styling with them. So, grab a good cup of coffee or nice glass of wine and sit a spell with me on the front porch swing *smile*

Pillow shams + inexpensive sleeping pillows are perfect for a covered front porch. When the shams get dirty, toss them in the washer, and they are as good as new. If I can’t wash it, I don’t buy it *wink*

If you are afraid of overcrowding your swing with pillows, a couple of patterned ones not only gussy up the swing, but they also add comfort.

Buy pillows that are versatile. I can easily move my pillows from the swing to the rockers. I even mix and match the ones that are on my outdoor sofa with the ones on the swing. It is an easy way to create new looks without spending more money…and that is always a good thing *smile*

Styling a swing is no different than styling an outfit. As my daughter always says on her blog, “Accessories make all the difference.” And the pillows are the accessories *smile* “When shopping for pillows, imagine yourself looking for trendy accessories….” (Abby Hathorn of the VIP)
Thanks so much for sitting a spell with me today as we looked at several ways to style a front porch swing. My best advice is to be creative, don’t shy away from bright colors and bold patterns, and mix those patterns! A porch should be inviting and cozy, and the best way to create that feel is with pillows *smile*
VERY nice. My goodness, you are so creative.
I love your pink porch swing! Which brand / color paint did you use? I’ve got a swing I’ve been wanting to paint but can’t find a shade of pink that I like.
Thank you so much for visiting my blog and for sitting a spell with me! I do apologize for it taking me so long to respond. My latest post explains where I have been–let’s just say I have been waddling around in my self-pity pjs trying to find my place in my new city! I painted my porch swing with Valspar Duramax in Pantone Honeysuckle. Pink is a tricky color because it can either be too Pepto or too ballerina (which I love all shades of pink, but when choosing for the outside of the home–I have to be a bit more picky!). I totally suggest getting a few sample size paints in shades of pink you like. Paint old wood pieces with the samples and check them out at different times of day because color is either enhanced or dulled by light. Always remember that is it just paint–if you hate it–no shame in painting over it! I am about to do that in my master bath haha Hugs, Chasidy
