Hey, y’all! Welcome to Sweet Sorghum Living–a place to sit a spell with a good cup of coffee and enjoy good conversation about everything from home decor to handmade goodness. Today on the blog, we are taking a little sneaky peek of the decking of Hathorn Hall. It has been a few years since I have had the opportunity to deck the halls–between moving and major renovations, we just did not take the time or have the energy to decorate for Christmas. This year we have decided to ease ourselves back into the spirit.
I used to be quite the Martha Stewart–before all the moving and renovating. Holiday parties, Christmas Open Houses–where every single room was decorated, a yard that could be on the cover of a magazine…to be honest, it was fun…but extremely exhausting. It was nice to have a break–even though it was an unintentional one *smile*
There is just something about decorating for Christmas that makes me feel like a kid again. Life slows down while the ornaments are being placed on the tree…while the nutcrackers are being unwrapped and set in place…while the stockings are being hung…yes, it a time when stories of Christmases past are told…when loved ones are remembered…when giving is more important than getting….
My goodness! I could rattle on all day about how emotional I get during this holiday season *smile* But enough of that! Let’s take a look at a “behind-the-scenes” of the decking of Hathorn Hall.
