There was a fabulous crowd at the Birmingham Home + Garden Show on Saturday, February 14.
Hey, y’all! Welcome to Sweet Sorghum Living–a place to sit a spell with a good cup of coffee and enjoy good conversation about everything from special events to gluten-free goodness! Today on the blog, we are chatting about some of the happenings at the Birmingham Home + Garden Show 2015. My goodness! There was so much going on that I wasn’t sure what I wanted to do first *wink* Now, let’s take a quick tour of what I found delightful and come back tomorrow for my top picks from the show.
The Home +Garden show definitely was not lacking on inspiration to get us started *smile*
Abby and I had a fun time visiting the show. She stopped and posed with her favorite diet beverage for a few folks. I admit that I am torn between Diet Dr. Pepper and Diet Pepsi. They are both pretty fabulous *smile*
I love this Dr. Pepper display! Two thumbs up for a sweet upcycle.
The Birmingham Home + Garden Show took over the BJCC for four days with nationally renowned experts in landscaping, outdoor living, home improvement, interior design, instructional how-to-seminars, give-aways, and more. The Western Supermarket was on the upper level of the BJCC, and it had some pretty delicious treats–from ice cream to sweet tea. This year the garden portion of the show was held on the upper level of the BJCC, where the garden designs were enhanced by natural light. Local design experts from Southern Botanicals, Trimm Landscape, Backyard Paradise, and Williams Landscape Services created gorgeous yard and garden displays to inspire the visitors. Hurry up, Spring!
Window World always delivers a great exhibit + knowledgeable folks to chat with potential customers about their window and door needs.
I am thinking that Hathorn Hall is going to need a few window updates. Even though I absolutely adore the old windows, they are not very energy efficient.
Look at this cutie that was working at the Window World booth. Who wouldn’t want to stop, sit a spell, and chat windows with this sweetie!
Lake Guntersville Pool & Patio had some gorgeous outdoor furniture. I am totally loving this sectional *smile*
So the hubby wants to create an outdoor space to accommodate a few of these, and I am thinking that it is a wonderful idea! Hurry up, Spring!!!!
Look at all the colors available for storage buildings from Star-Tec Builders. “Here at Star-Tec Builders we take pride in our quality and make it our primary goal to please our customers. We set ourselves apart from the competition as a leader in the portable building industry by having over 15 years of professional experience, using the highest quality products like Premium #1 T1-11 Pressure Treated Siding on all our treated buildings, providing outstanding customer service, while still offering our products at a competitive price.” My goodness! Superb quality + pink as a color choice = perfect option for that new garden shed *wink* Do y’all think the hubby would go for a pink garden shed? Hmmm
The cooking demonstrations were very popular at the show. I saw a lot of happy customers walking away with their new shiny pots and pans *smile*
I was super excited to see pest control vendors because y’all know how much I hate bugs and spiders! Did I tell y’all the story about how I converted a regular light bulb to a mini Edison one? No? Okay, I will have to tell y’all that hilarious tale very soon–stay tuned and make sure you’re not drinking while reading it!
Just a little peek at one of my top picks.
I had so much fun demonstrating the Lady Ratchet Lopper for Ironwood Tools.
The hubby really needs a Little Giant Ladder System–because Christmas 2015 we are going ALL OUT!!!
“Beef, It’s What’s For Dinner”
Look at these beauties!
No outdoor living space would be complete without a way to cook up some deliciousness .
Are y’all ready for warmer weather and cooking out with family and friends? I know I am!
The Home + Garden Show had so much to offer. Durante Home Exteriors was there inspiring passers-by with its incredible products–from siding to decks. Be sure to check out their website for more details. Click here.
The Western Supermarket Food Pavilion was hopping with happy visitors sampling everything from ice cream to sweet tea.
This is a sneak peek of one of the top picks. Shhhh, that is all I can tell y’all today.

Posing for a few photos after the interview
One last sneak peek of the top picks. I cannot wait to reveal my favorites!
More than 300 companies were represented at the Birmingham Home + Garden Show–many of them offered exclusive show-only deals. There were vendors showcasing everything from home improvement to speciality cookware. From what I witnessed, a lot of folks took home some great deals and ideas!
