A fun painting I did for my new sitting area on my front porch. I am still adding details, but I am hoping to finish it soon *big smile*
Hey, y’all! Welcome to Sweet Sorghum Living–a place to sit a spell with a good cup of coffee or sweet tea and enjoy good conversations about everything from home renovation projects to handmade goodness. Today on the blog, I wanted to show y’all my new sitting area on my front porch.

I got the most fabulous deal on these pillows at Stein Mart–it was a BOGO! No kidding–six pillows for about $25–the hubby was beyond thrilled by my fabulous find!
Recently, the hubby built a deck (really an outdoor living room), and I was able to kick his Big Green Egg and other manly junk off the wrap-around porch. Yes, I reclaimed my space *wink* I had been dreaming of sitting a spell in that space since we moved in about a year ago.

I have had the chair and sofa for over five years. I know it has been moved at least three times during that time. I am happy to announce that I finally feel settled and at home *big smile*
My biggest goal for this space was to make it cozy, comfy, and cheery. I wanted bold art, rusty treasures, and reclaimed pieces. It was important for it to reflect me–no mater how eclectic it might appear to others!

This is a Lolly Molly Art furniture piece. For many years, I painted furniture–I still dabble a little in furniture painting–but it is getting harder to find quality pieces at reasonable prices to redo. I blame Pinterest and those picker shows *wink*
After arranging and rearranging everything at least a dozen times, I finally achieved the atmosphere for which I was going. It is the perfect place to enjoy a cup of coffee in the mornings.

I got this darling pallet-wood shelf from The Next Best Thing in Johnson City. I adore that place because it is filled with amazing handmade goodness, folksy art, and junky treasures.

The rusty milk can makes the perfect side table + it has just enough room for my phone and coffee mug *smile*

I intentionally bought a neutral sofa, so I could accessorize it with seasonal and colorful pillows.

The sitting area is in the “back corner” of the wrap-around porch. I was able to create a cozy space without blocking traffic or access to the steps.
Thanks so much for sitting a spell with me today as we took a look at my new sitting area on my front porch. I am so excited that I have reclaimed my space from the hubby *wink*
