Hey, y’all! Welcome to Sweet Sorghum Living–a place to sit a spell with a good cup of coffee and enjoy good conversation on everything from fall foliage to home renovation. I don’t know about y’all, but it has been a super busy week. I don’t know if I am coming or going or even what day of the week it is! Thank goodness, my Google calendar reminds me where I need to be and when *wink* Today on the blog, we are chatting about the ribbon cutting ceremony that took place in the charming town of Jonesborough. I would like to give a big thanks to Abby of the Vintage Inspired Passionista and Sixteen & Successful for taking photos and notes at today’s event at Boone Street Market. I was in a meeting in Johnson City at the same time the ribbon cutting was taking place–and as much as I would like to be in two or more places at once…*wishful thinking…sigh…smile*

Now, this is a big chicken, and it made from grocery bags. How cool is that! Two thumbs up for a fabulous, upcycled art piece!

Boone Street Market is a partnership between the town of Jonesborough and Jonesborough Locally Grown (JLG), which is a nonprofit whose goal is to promote local food and farmers. The Boone Street Market is a year-round, “nonprofit market run for the benefit of its customers and growers.  It will be staffed by a paid manager and an assistant, plus volunteers” (http://jfmstore.blogspot.com/p/about-boone-street-market.html).

It was a day to be celebrated in Jonesborough with the ribbon cutting of Boone Street Market. What a wonderful project and accomplishment for this historic town in Northeast Tennessee.

I think we could use more positive and inspiring stories like this *smile*

This was taken last year when we came to Johnson City to house hunt. Our realtor told us about Jonesborough, and we decided to take a little tour--and I am so glad we did!

If I had to pick a favorite photo from today's adventure, this one would be it. I thought it turned out pretty good considering I know nothing about the hubby's fancy camera. I can only shoot it on auto *smile*

I am super proud of this shot because I got down on the ground (living on the wild side *wink*) to take this picture.

The Tractor Show at the 44th Annual Jonesborough Days

I know absolutely nothing about vintage and antique tractors; however, I do know that they are movable pieces of art...built with pride and true craftsmanship...and loved much by their current owners...and they remind me of my dad...and we all know that I am a daddy's girl *wink*
